Movements Caribbean Takeaway is a straightforward spot on Harlesden High Street that serves authentic Jamaican and Caribbean flavors, mostly geared toward takeout but with a handful of seats at the front window for those who want to dine in briefly. The vibe here is casual and no-frills, matching the busy, bustling energy of the neighborhood itself.

If you’re dropping by, it’s clear this is a place for those craving hearty, traditional Caribbean meals without any fuss. The menu centers heavily on classics like jerk chicken, oxtail, stew chicken, and curry dishes, most served up with the expected sides of rice and peas or plain white rice. Fried plantain makes a regular appearance alongside the mains, adding that essential sweet-savory balance that Caribbean food lovers appreciate. There’s also a notable selection of soups—red pea and chicken soup among them—that offer a warming start or comforting side.

Movements doesn’t serve its food plated in a formal dining setting; instead, it leans into its role as a takeaway hub where quick, filling meals take priority. That said, the limited seating looks out onto Harlesden’s lively high street, making it a decent pit stop if you want a taste of the community’s everyday rhythm while you eat.

Local regulars often mention the consistently fresh and flavorful dishes, pointing especially to the oxtail and ackee & saltfish dumplings as highlights. The homemade drinks, like the spiced carrot juice and authentic Guinness punch, provide a nice, sweet contrast to the robust main courses, rounding out a solid Caribbean eating experience.

It’s a practical choice for anyone craving authentic Jamaican food in NW10, particularly if you want something quick yet satisfying after a stroll through Harlesden’s vibrant market and shops. While the seating is limited and the space modest, the menu focuses on delivering familiar flavors at approachable prices, with friendly service locals recognize. If you’re in the area midday or early evening, this is a dependable spot to grab a taste of Jamaica without leaving London.

They have finally started to rip us off. Don’t order a large soup as you will pay for a large quantity but in return receive a small-medium portion. Very sneaky

I drove from Hayes to this restaurant, I was apprehensive at first due to them not having what I wanted. To be fair it was after 5pm. Anyway ordered something different and let me tell you the food was sweet! When I got home and plated it up the large was seriously a large. I’m glad I went, because the Caribbean shops in Hayes are not authentic at all. Next time I’ll get there early to try the rest of the menu.
